Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information Recent Funding collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the website at https://recentfunding.com, the newsletter and the API. It doesn't cover third-party sites we link to; they have their own policies.
If you visit the site
- Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and visitors. It doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't track you across other websites.
- Server logs. Our hosting providers (Vercel and Railway) record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It's used to run and secure the service.
- Your browser's storage. The site remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
We don't use advertising cookies or trackers, and we don't sell your information.
If you subscribe to the newsletter
We store your email address, the page you signed up from and the time you signed up. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address, which lets us spot abuse without keeping the address itself. We use your email only to send the newsletter. We may use an email delivery service to send it; they process your address only for that purpose.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to hello@recentfunding.com. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you.
If you're listed as a founder or team member
Recent Funding publishes information about startups, including founders' and team members' names, roles, and public profile links (such as X and LinkedIn) and public profile pictures. It all comes from public sources such as company websites, accelerator and investor portfolio pages, news articles and public social media profiles, and we show the source for each person. We publish it because it's part of understanding who is building a company and who is backing it.
If you'd like your information corrected or removed, email hello@recentfunding.com from an address we can connect to you, or tell us how to verify it's you. We'll act on it promptly.
If you use the API
API requests are logged like any other web request (see "Server logs" above). The API needs no account and no key.
How long we keep information
- Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting providers for their standard retention periods.
- Company and founder information: kept while it's relevant, and removed on request.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information. To make a request, email hello@recentfunding.com.
Children
The service isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the "updated" date above.
